Hello world!

Welcome to the Friend Control blog!

The Friend Patrol is a traveling cadre of artists, seeking to build connections between people from around the globe. In this highly militarized time, the Friend Patrol seeks to counter that by harnessing the vibrational power of cooperation and friendship on the personal, collective and symbolic levels. In addition to fostering direct person-to-person interaction, the Friend Patrol manifests itself virtually via a robust website.

Simply put, the mission of the Friend Patrol is to promote and facilitate friendship amongst all the peoples on earth. It will accomplish this mission directly through person-to-person interaction, collectively through the collection and sharing of stories— telling how and where collective friendships are working and where they are not.  And through the sharing of art and performance, the Friend Patrol hopes to also manifest itself on the symbolic level as well.

Over time, the friendpatrol.com website will become a giant collection of connections; a content rich environment. In addition to the traveling core team members, the Friend Patrol will invite membership via the website. New members will receive the opportunity to get involved at whatever level matches their interest.

So, that is the basic nugget of the idea. Time to get to work.

This area can be used for displaying anything you want. For example, you could show Countdown, a list of upcoming events, Automatic WP Player, MP3 Player for WP, and Stylesheet Chooser, a dropdown box that allows users to choose the style displayed.

Other suggestions include Random Witty Text, displaying random lines of text from a separate text file, Random Posts, which displays a customizable list of random posts, Random Excerpts, to display random excerpts, and Random Banner, which displays a random image from a directory of images.

Or, you could show users Recent Comments, which quotes the most recent comments and links them to the post, Recent Posts, getting the most-recent post content or excerpt by category, Email Notification, allowing users to sign up to be notified when an entry is made to your weblog, via email, and GetWeather, which allows you to show your current weather conditions.
